The Microsoft Office Android app combines Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a way that simplifies the experience with fewer apps to download or switch between on your device.
It requires far less phone storage than installing individual apps while maintaining virtually all the capabilities of the existing mobile apps people already know and use.
Also, integrated is the Lens technology to unlock the power of the camera with capabilities of converting images into editable Word and Excel documents, scanning PDFs, and capturing whiteboards with automatic digital enhancements to make the content easier to read.
Follow these steps to install it on your device:
1. If you are viewing this article from the device, you can click on this link Microsoft Office to directly go to the Google Play download.
Otherwise, on your Android SmartPhone or Tablet, go to Google Play and type in Microsoft Office in the search box, then select Install
2. Once installed, select Open
Otherwise, if you have gone back to your main screen, locate and select Microsoft Office app
3. You will be prompted if you want to Allow Office to access photos, media and files on your device?
Select Allow
4. The Get Started information box will now appear which shows you briefly the features of the Microsoft Office app
Select Get Started to continue
5. Your privacy options will be displayed for you to read
If you haven't added a Microsoft Account to your Android device, select NEXT and then choose whether you want optional data about your Office experience sent to Microsoft
Then finally select CLOSE on the Powering your experience screen
Otherwise, if you have already added a Microsoft Account on your Android device, select CLOSE to continue
6. If you have not added a Microsoft Account previously on your Android device, select anywhere on the Connect account box to add an account
7. Now type in your Microsoft account which is normally an email address or phone number, then select Sign in to continue
8. Now you be prompted to type in your password for your Microsoft account, then select Sign in
You will then need to accept any Data or Privacy information screens that appear to complete the setup
9. You have now successfully installed and setup Microsoft Office on your Android SmartPhone or Tablet
