How to Shut Down on a Windows 11 Computer

Below are a few few ways you can shut down (turn off) a Windows 11 Computer, but always make sure you have closed and saved any work first.

To shut down, select Start and then select Power > Shut down

1. Press the Windows key+D to bring up your desktop

2. Press the Alt key+F4

3. The shutdown menu will appear, select OK or press Enter on your keyboard

1. Hold down the Ctrl and Alt keys together, and then press the Del key

2. Select the Power icon in the lower-right corner

3. Select Shut down

As standard, if you press the power button on your computer or laptop, it will not shut down (turn off), instead it will go in to sleep mode.
